Stories of the canal told by community voices, an installation and soundscape to invite, inspire and involve. Community voices heard by installation artist Tara Downs –
Radio Droogdok and Jo Leahy – Resound Radio.

This installation forms part of a series of community led exhibitions within the Wool and Water festival over the 7th and 8th of September. The series of works celebrate canal and textile heritage through work by local artists and community creatives.

Museum In The Park

Join the canals team for a great day for families at our favourite museum. You can meet Jim the Navvy to find out how the canal was built and why he ties up his trouser legs, hear canal stories and share yours, make a map with us, find out more about the great textile mills, then have a go at dyeing wool. Loads to see, touch and hear. All welcome, fully accessible and free!

Bug Bioblitz

Saturday 30 May
10am-1pm
Fromebridge Mill

A wildlife discovery day along the canal and River Frome. Find out what lives in the water and along the banks and take part in activities including a nature walk, dragonfly hunt, canal dipping and moth ID session. Join Anna Tarbet and local experts at Fromebridge Mill where you  can park for free. Great for families, all welcome.

Please do get in touch if there is anything you’d like to ask or of you have any specific requirements that we might need to know about in advance. There is an unmade path and the ground is fairly flat but uneven. Dress for the weather – sunscreen or wellies! Meet at 9:45am.
