Ocean Railway Bridge 26th December

Heavy Rain does not stop us!

Despite heavy rain, Network Rail are making good progress . They’re now getting ready to put in the foundations for the new bridge. It will allow canal boats to pass under the railway in the future.

The team have now excavated the embankment to remove both culvert units and have achieved full excavation to below culvert level. Next they will backfill, compact and test the new foundation bed.

If you look carefully you will see the original Stroudwater Bridge bricks through the cut of the new channel.
