We have eight box culvert units in place!
It’s been a very exciting 24 hours. A short video shows a closer view of the first sections of the new bridge being lifted in last night at the Ocean. Network Rail Scheme Project Manager Simon Laird and Cotswold Canals Connected Canal Engineering Manager Glenn Dooley tell us a little more.
The weather has been kinder to us than forecast and today all eight main bridge units (box culvert units) had been installed and preparations for the lifting of the wingwalls and lifted the first wingwall units started after lunch.
Last night a few of the core team were able to be on site to watch the first of the eight box culvert units being craned in. Now all safely installed the Network Rail team are working on installing the 12 wing wall units.
