The towpath from Ocean swing bridge to Bond’s Mill will remain open for the whole of June, and will close later this summer from Ocean Jubilee Bridge to Bond’s Mill to carry out further restoration works. We don’t have an exact closing date yet but we will do a post to update everyone as soon as we do.
The restoration works will involve widening the canal where it is very narrow at Hoffman’s Dam, to make it fully navigable. We will be posting more about the fascinating story of why the canal is so narrow here in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!
