Works at the Ocean

We hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine and the newly opened towpath at the Ocean!

We’re here to give you a quick update on the works and what to expect over the next week.

Our partners and Network Rail are continuing to investigate the source of the water seepage from the Ocean into the adjacent field. We will be carrying out a dye test this Thursday, 16th June to establish the source of the seepage. So, if you see some funny coloured water, not to worry, we’re just trying to sort the problem as quickly as possible so the towpath can permanently open!

Depending on the results from the dye test, we may need to conduct more investigations over the coming weeks.

We would like to re-assure you that the dye we use is environmentally friendly and will not cause any harm to the wildlife or vegetation in the surrounding area.

Don’t forget that the towpath will remain open for the whole of June, with the intention of closing again later this summer to continue with further restorative works.

Again, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and would like to thank you for your patience.
